Hi gth822

I sent you one message two or three days ago. Did you get it? I asked you about your decision about the EPP program. Are you going to select this program or you want to go another program?

Thanks,

Res

2. Hey Zhao, Thanks for your reply. I am visiting on also on the 29th and 30th of this month. are you planning to visit? I am waiting for financial support decision quite eagerly but I guess I won't find out until after the visit since the admission letter stated that "The decision on financial support for graduate study will be made in the near future. To help inform the support decision, we would like to arrange for you to visit campus as soon as it is convenient." I would love to hear about it before then though.
3. I am sorry to invade you guys' topic but I have a quick question if you don't mind (It's not easy to get advice regarding this). Do you guys know anything about the Engineering and Public Policy program at CMU? I know it's officially not linked to Heinz (it's housed in the engineering department), but I guess it still has a lot overlapping professors/classes/research areas. Any insights would be really appreciated.
4. I was curious about that. Thanks! My status too still hasn't changed and I start getting worried. I just sent an e-mail to the graduate director. Btw, I completed my undergrad in IE at GT. Obviously, the graduate program would have its huge differences, but I guess I could still be of help to some degree if you have any questions regarding the department, the environment, Atlanta, etc.
5.

If you're talking about the master's at stanford ms&e, I think you have till april 30th to decide.
6. Hello, I guess I am one of the few people on this forum looking at this program. I am international student, but did my undergrad studies at Georgia Tech in Industrial Engineering. I mostly applied to IE and Operations Research programs, but I had really liked this, applied to it and actually got in. Since I am interested in public policy research a lot, it's actually one of the options I am paying particular attention to. What do you think of the program? Do you know of any other resources/discussions about it? I know Heinz for public policy is a pretty strong school, and to my knowledge, this particular program is not part of it but it's not a big deal. It should be still quite reputable and have many common professors/classes. Is that right? What do you think? Any inside perspective on the department, RAships, research going on, job prospects? My background is not particularly in public policy so sorry if I come across a little ignorant. Any insight, info, advice, direction would be greatly appreciated.
7. hey just on a quick note, i did my undergrad studies at gatech in industrial engineering. it's right at the heart of downtown but kinda isolated which is good because you can have either one. the campus is quite nice (always a construction going on though). physics building is pretty central. atlanta overall is a good city. i hated it when i first came (i was an int'l student) but it grew on me. you're gonna need a car if you don't stay on campus. there is grad housing on campus also some apartments closeby where some undergrad/grad students live. if you decide to live off-campus and decide to commute northern atlanta is quite nice (like the city dunwoody in metro atlanta) . just my personal opinion: you can choose to live on campus for the first semester/year and check out the surroundings and the atmosphere and move on from there.
8. Hey guys, This is my first post on this forum. I was the one who posted the MIT rejection on the results webpage. So I can verify it. What do you guys think of the program at UT Austin? I feel like not too many people applied to UT (but instead they applied to TAMU). I hear UT Austin is a great school; however, it looks like they have a small department in regards to ORIE. Still, it had a good ranking and have substantial research going on. Anyone care to chime in? Btw, I am an int'l, graduated from Georgia Tech; and now I am applying to PhD and MS both. I already got in to Cornell (MS), UT Austin (PhD), and UCF (PhD) and still waiting on Georgia Tech and Stanford (for M.S.). Was gonna apply to more schools, but one of my professors thought that it was enough. :/
