  1. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington has two openings for Post-Doctoral Research Fellows: Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, Immunogenetics: http://bit.ly/2fe6SsO Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, B Cell Response to Vaccination: http://bit.ly/2fmUSnq At Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, home to three Nobel laureates, interdisciplinary teams of world-renowned scientists seek new and innovative ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening diseases. Fred Hutch's pioneering work in bone marrow transplantation led to the development of immunotherapy, which harnesses the power of the immune system to treat cancer with minimal side effects. An independent, nonprofit research institute based in Seattle, Fred Hutch houses the nation's first and largest cancer prevention research program, as well as the clinical coordinating center of the Women's Health Initiative and the international headquarters of the HIV Vaccine Trials Network.
  2. Thanks @emb! You've been super helpful.
  3. To add on to the previous mentions of stipends, does anyone have a ballpark figure for stipends for the Chinese programs specifically? I am a freshman (and therefore don't make/have tons of money lol) without financial support from my parents for extracurriculars like CLS, so it'd be nice to know how much I should start to budget for the program. Also, does anyone know what the situation with meals is? My program is dorming instead of living with a host family, so would we be purchasing our own meals or would those be provided? Many thanks to you all for being so helpful!
  4. Chinese in Changchun, China!
  5. @mrs12 glad you made it on time! What location are you going to?
  6. Oh no! @mrs12 were you able to submit on time?
  7. @pdh12 we haven't started the visa process yet (for China), but my first day is on the 16th. If you go on the CLS website, they have listings for all the program sites and their start dates. Bangla, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu are also on the 7th, which makes sense to have all the India ones on the same date. The Tainan, Taiwan program is also on the 7th.
  8. @emb It says on the form that "the completed Physicians statement MUST be signed by a licensed M.D. or DO. The Critical Language Scholarship Program cannot accept signatures from an NP or PA." Went in to my clinic specifically asking for a doctor to fill out the form and when I got home and looked at my visit summary it was with a PA...so I have to go back
