  1. Is anyone else as sad as I am? I know other more deserving people won and I'm happy for them, but still very sad. I've never really won or been recognized for anything, and winning this would have been the solution to my financial problems (my TA stipend is not something I can live on) and a solution to how much I dislike teaching.

Most of my comments were about how I haven't published enough to be competitive with other 2nd year grad students. I've done what I can with the resources available to me in my program, but I can't compete with people at wealthy universities on research grants.

I think someone pooped in my last reviewer's cheerios. :D

I'm a little bit disappointed in my results. I didn't think I'd get it, but man, that last reviewer...

    Good/Good, Good/Very Good, Poor/Poor.

The first two reviewers were fair in their assessment. The last reviewer was a callous jerk. <_<

That sucks! I am sorry. Did the last reviewer not read your statements carefully? So much of it comes down to getting the right reviewers

That exact number is unfortunately unknown. :)

    Sucks, right?

That might be for the best! Probably time for me to stop looking for things to obsess over and go to sleep

Don't do it! Not worth the stress!

I was actually wondering more about the total number of people who apply in a certain discipline.  Is it that the top 10% of applicants win it regardless of discipline, or do they aim for the top 10% of each discipline?
