  1. Alas I did not get one but I am happy There are so many people here who seemed to want it more than I did and this makes it so much easier for me to decide where to go and what to do. I'm starting to become comfortable with my mediocrity. Embracing the underachiever in me... Congratulations to everyone who did win!
  2. That's great news for them, bad news for those of us who were comforted by the thought that no one got in Ah well... back to be a loser now I guess.
  3. Does anyone else have the feeling that some schools are waiting to accept/reject them until they find out if they have been awarded the GRF? I just wonder because of the schools I applied to I have heard back from those that didn't know I was applying for it and haven't heard a peep out of those that did. This is truly a bad sign that my obsession has grown to mammoth proportions - I spend way too much time trying to get inside the heads of these people. Sigh.
  4. Someone posted on the results search on February 27th that a faculty member told them that they had voted and decided not to accept any applicants to the anthro/archaeology program this year due to budget problems. Has anyone else heard this? If this is true then: 1) I don't feel like such a loser and 2) I am more than a bit miffed everyone had to spend the money and undergo the emotional turmoil of applying for spots that didn't exist. I suppose one could extend the benefit of the doubt and assume that the faculty had not decided this until after the December 15th deadline??
  5. I was just wondering if anyone has heard back regarding admission to the Masters program in Anthro at Syracuse. Also, does anyone know anything about their acceptance rates historically? I heard it's a miracle if you get in so I haven't been putting ANY eggs in this particular basket. Thanks and good luck to everyone!
  6. Is that true about the less than 10% acceptance rate? I got my email yesterday directing me to the very terse "Deny letter" on their website and I have to admit that even though Berkeley wasn't my #1 choice I was a little bruised by the rejection. My faculty advisor at my school knows everyone at Berkeley and had assured me I was a "shoe-in" so I guess I had unrealistic expectations....
