Reviving this thread. The deadline for making the decision is coming and I'm still undecided.
I did not receive any funding from both schools. Both schools have different strengths. SIPA is in general more well known. Sciences Po is a very good school too but it's lesser known internationally.
However, I will incur a greater debt of approximately 30k-40k for the 2 years if I were to attend SIPA. Which school should I attend? Is SIPA worth the extra 30k-40k debt?
Appreciate if someone could help. Thanks in advance.
If I have no debts and some savings, I'll go for Harris. If I still have undergrad debt, I'll go for CMU.
Harris is a good school. You'll be lots happier without the 130k debt. After graduation, you have more freedom to choose to work in any field you want without worrying about your massive debt.
That's my opinion.
Hi all
I'm deciding between SIPA and Sciences Po. SIPA is a lot more expensive and I'm not sure if it's wise to incur such huge debt. On the other hand, I prefer SIPA's concentration and also, it's harder to find employment in Europe after graduation for non-EU.
Would like to hear your views on this. Thank you!
I think no more than 25k-30k per year (including tuition and fees) given the high cost of living in NYC plus the fact that some of us do want to go into non-profit or multilateral organizations later.
Between, you're deferring for 1 year for SIPA?
Thanks for all your responses.
I'm still deciding on which schools I should attend. I know Sciences Po is very reputable in Europe. However I wonder how much of an advantage it would be to attend Sciences Po given that it's generally harder (or is it nearly impossible given the current labor market) for non-EU residents to work in Europe?
I am thinking of going into public sector consulting but I'm sure whether it will be easy for international students to find a job (and hence whether i can pay the debt).
Anyway thanks for your advice!
Ok.. i'm terrified of the huge financial debt that I'll incur if I choose to go to SIPA. Is it easy for SIPA graduates to get a job (esp for international students)?
What are the various loan options for international students, apart from CitiAssist? How high are the interest rates? Approx 10% without cosigner?
Thanks!
