  1. Yeah, that was my understanding of the reading as well.
  2. According to the Fletcher Blog, we should find out by March 19th. http://news.fletcher.tufts.edu/admissions/
  3. Ohhh! THANK YOU! From there I found that website where you can check the application of your status..man I had no clue that existed! You're a lifesaver!
  4. I was wondering the same thing! I haven't been able to access their admissions blog all day! :-/ UGHH:SNDF:Nd!
  5. Hey! I didn't apply there for graduate studies, but I did my undergrad at JMU in English and Psychology. I can't say as though I know much about the graduate program, but the undergraduate program was not very rigorous. Having said that, I LOVED the courses they offered and most of my professors, especially the creative writing, poetry, and renaissance faculty. They know their stuff, and they're extremely willing to set aside time to help you. For these reasons, I decided to take on English as a second major, and never looked back. The campus is absolutely beautiful, and since I've graduated (just 2 years ago!) they've opened up a new library, performing arts center, and tunnels (so you won't get soaked on your way to classes). The school is also known for its food! No joke! They've got over 18 places to eat on campus. (Can you tell I love the school -- I was a tour guide for prospective students) hahah. Have you been able to visit there? Did you apply to other programs?
  6. Hi, hi! I also appplied to Korbel & American. I'm in at Korbel, and still waiting to hear from American. According to their website, they don't send out letters until the mid-March/April. I've heard that the schools in DC are a little behind because of all the snow they've had.
  7. Bon -- Ugh! Don't you just hate how schools get our hopes up like that?! Don't they know we're practically running around like chickens with our heads off by now?! On the upside, at the very least, you know that you're still in the running, and you have heard from the school! Much better than sending emails and getting no response. I didn't apply to GW because I thought it was so far out of my league. American is already a huge reach for me. American's International Communication track looked amazing. I contemplated pursuing that or Foreign Policy, but opted for the latter. I haven't been able to do any campus visits either, although I have an interview this weekend at TAMU. My family used to live in Virginia, and my brother lives in DC -- he has good things to say about American, the campus, and as well as the general DC area, especially the nightlife. Haha. Where did you just move from?
  8. Hi BonAppetit! Right on, I looked at the results page as well, and it seems like American applicants hear rather late in the game. Their website also says they usually send out their results in mid-march. So, let's not fret yet...at least not too much. If that's possible. If it gets to be April with no word, then I'll be a little more worried. What program did you apply to at American? Is GWU your top choice? Have you had a chance to visit either campus?
  9. Down here in Texas, UT is considered an excellent university. I can't tell you about the specifics of LBJ, but UT has a premiere reputation. Did you wind up retaking the GRE? I also have a very similiar quant. GRE score.
  10. It looks like we've been applying to a couple of the same schools. Maybe I'll see you this weekend!
  11. Do you mind me asking which school in DC? The area has had so much snow in such a short span that even the government was closed for an entire week!
  12. I totally agree with you!! Many schools will indicate a mid-range of average GPA or GRE scores on their website, but that doesn't mean the school doesn't accept students with lower averages. If there's one thing this whole application process has taught me, it really IS about having a "complete package." Congratulations on your acceptances! Where is your top choice?
