Hello guys, I'm want to apply for PhD programs in the US but the process is so tedious and boring! Especially looking for a program that suits you. You have to go through so many links that in the end I lose track of where I stated in the first place. So my question is what is the best way to look for prospective programs? How do you go about finding a PI? How do you really pin down your choices and finalise that I am interested in this research etc .

I like physics in general. But when it gets too deep I lose interest. My main interest is in atmospheric Physics. the thing is that I have too many other interests too like musics,cooking etc. So I don't know where my passion lies. Since a PhD involves a big commitment, I'm unsure about the decision.

Hello everyone. I'm new to the grad cafe.I have just finished my Masters is Physics and i'm taking up the GRE in October. I'm just very unsure about a PhD.What does a PhD entail? I don't know if i'm cut out for it and also If i'm really passionate about it.
