  1. If you are looking for scholars that will help you with your ultimate interest (medieval Islam and Christianity), I would go with Yale over Princeton. Yale has Denys Turner and John Hare who respectively cover the bases of the Dominican and Franciscan theological traditions. Indeed, Turner is an accomplished scholar on Aquinas, who as you know, was one of the first theologians to really engage with the Arab commentators. Anyway, just my two cents. Fordham is great, but it might not look as good for PHD apps.
  2. Phenomenologist, I got accepted into the MAR Philosophical Theology concentration. Just FYI. My stats are posted elsewhere. Won't be attending Yale, as I have a difficult decision between Duke and Notre Dame.
  3. I just wanted to let all those waiting on Duke MTS decision to know that I received a call on Friday from the Dean of Admissions. I missed the call, but spoke to someone at the Divinity school today. I was admitted for the fall with a full tuition scholarship. That was all that I could get out of them. Not sure when other decisions will be posted or when others will be notified.
  4. Medieval Philosophy and Theology, but the person I am most interested in understanding is Thomas Aquinas. Perhaps not a good way to get a job after completing your PHD, but likely a good way to get into a Catholic school.
  5. GRE 580 v 650 q 5.5 (took it three years ago or so) Undergrad (Religion and Philosophy) GPA: 3.66 (highly ranked public university) Master's Philosophy in progress (highly ranked UK university) Worked two years at a University research center overseas Host of publications, but only two articles published in "real" (non-student) journals Languages: French and Spanish I assume that is enough. I really think that in the end no combination of stats guarantees anything. My interests are tailor-made for Notre Dame, at least as far as moral theology is concerned. Certainly my stats helped, but I think the major deciding factor is that there were people at the University whose interests aligned closely with mine and moreover that my CV/coursework attested to that interest. Hope that helps everyone!
  6. MTS in Moral Theology. I was surprised by the extra money as well.
  7. I got full tuition plus 5k stipend per year. Not sure if that was uniform across the board or not.
  8. Thanks! I don't know what snail mail means unfortunately. Cheron Price sent an email to my gmail account that contained a letter from the head of the Department. I hope that helps.
  9. I just got a notice of acceptance to Notre Dame MTS in Moral Theology. I also applied to Duke Divinity MTS, but have not heard from them. Just FYI for everyone anxiously waiting out there.
