It's not a surprise that people are afraid of such things. Comprehensive exam is usually the most feared moment in students' academic lives. Back in my college days I was as scared as you but I managed to temper by fear. First of all you have to understand that you can't skip it, so just calm yourself down and do it. This may sond very obvious but you have to prepare, preparation is not a remedy but it will provide a good answer background. Do different tricks, e.g ask each commitee member if they have any recommendations concerning literature or whatever. There is no way that you can know the answers to all of the questions that you will be asked. If you don't know, say that you don't know. It's OK. Know your strengths and weak points. And probably the most important tip, get some rest, go do crazy and fun stuff, because you are going to become a real dead walker if all you are going to do in the next 3 weeks is learning and learning and learning.. Hey guys! I'm going to have my comprehensive exam in 3 weeks and I'm already scared like a little girl..I have no idea how I'm going to pass them, I am sooo nervous..I am afraid I will fail only because of that.
