What? But it says 16th March.

ot this standard rejection letter on Tuesday. I was expecting it too so was prepared for the rejection. Europe is also going towards nationalism so I can see why I was rejected despite the good grades and good GRE. Also got into Columbia but will probably be going to Stellenbosch or Norway instead. Can't deal with Trump and his idiots. Good Luck to those still waiting but if you're American or Asian you probably got it already! :D

    •  was expecting this. I Received the email a day ago. According to the Facebook Group the Institute rejected 95% of the Africans (Those who indicated that on FB and shared their true result) Maybe our grading system isn't up to their standards but only 3 of those actually went to African Universities most are from UK or USA. :( Lucky for me I got into a US program but I am scared of Trump and his America so probably won't go to Grad school at all.

Also check where the person is from, etc. Sometimes they are also looking for a diversity factor.

What is the full profile of this 3.9 scorer? Just curious.

I dunno about the profile, but heres the comment he/she provided-

    • Not sure why my application has been rejected or many of those who applied too. It's like I am being punished for being highly intelligent. Not sure what I did wrong. Probably going to accept the RAND offer now.

I work for a non profit in Mumbai, work ex.

Its not International though. I feel this whole focus on grades is unfair as its so hard to get stellar grades in India. It's also hard to gain international exposure when it's all so expensive for students from developing countries.

I really hope you get in though, it will give me hope.

I know, we are graded really poorly. DU grades well comparatively well, though. I am from Xavier's, Kolkata. My LoR mentions that I was among the top 10% of my class (class strength 60) but I am really doubtful as I was already deferred once.

Anyway, all the very best to you, I will be reapplying next year too if I don't make it this time round :)

Nope, I plan to reapply next year.

However, I did not have a GRE score and while they say its not necessary, I don't know if having one actually helps in some way.

What is your GPA? Mine was 3.3.

I have a mere 63% :( On my defense, we were scored really frugally, the topper got a 70 :/

What are you doing rn? As in, gathering work-ex or studying further?

Not to freak you out but I applied last year and they waitlisted me till March, after which they eventually rejected me. Not that it will definitely happen to you but it's a possibility.

Lol it does freak me out :P But seeing how they reject some really good profiles i am prepped. I have a sucky GPA anyway :(

    Did you reapply this year?
