  1. In a change of pace from all the Stanford/Columbia chatter (congrats to those accepted!) is anyone claiming the CUNY acceptance on the board?
  2. USC is pretty generous for the POIR day. Hotel and meals taken care of, up to $800 for airfare (although this might be due to traveling from abroad, not sure).
  3. Rejected from UMN but accepted to USC and invited to the POIR day in March! That first acceptance feels so good!
  4. Georgetown is sending decisions today too? There goes my heart rate... Congrats @international_IR
  5. Same here regarding Northwestern. Gives me hope for some sort of silent waitlist.
  6. It's not quite noom in Minnesota yet (if my timezones are right), hopefully they'll send out emails today. The web portal has a note about possible delays between a status change and notification though...
  7. Congrats! Being a native of the area...hope you have a warm coat!
  8. Not totally sure what it means, but my status has now changed to "Final Review"...hopefully that means we hear soon!
  9. It's not mine, but got me paranoid enough to check my account again. Nothing so far
  10. Anyone have any guesses about MSU (I know some decisions have been made already) and USC? Starting to feel like there is some conspiracy to keep my inbox empty...
  11. Huge congratulations to everyone who got good news today! For me it's another day of wasted email refreshing and jumping every time my phone buzzed
  12. I was waitlisted from the get-go. Far as I can tell they invited 40 to the visit (I was waitlisted before this). 30 of those get offers, the rest go on the list.
  13. Thanks, I'm IR as well so it's just a matter of waiting now. MSU wouldn't be my first pick, but it looks like a solid program. Congrats on the acceptance!
  14. Definitely, good to have an idea when to expect things. Thanks for the heads up! What's your subfield, if you don't mind me asking?
  15. I'm hoping the fact that I haven't heard anything from MSU has to do with the fact that I live outside the US and not that I'm being rejected... At this point I'm still waiting on most of my applications (GWU waitlist, NW silent rejection) - UMN may be soon, same with MSU? Any guesses on Georgetown or USC? I'm waiting on CUNY too, but based on the boards they take a decade and a half to send out decisions.
  16. @mstama123 Congrats! I had some ETS issues sending my GRE scores to MSU...hoping I'll hear some similar good news in the coming weeks!
  17. @concrema how was the USC interview? I applied there (IR) and haven't heard a peep
  18. It might be a bit petty of me, but I'm rather ticked that some schools *cough*Northwestern*cough* can't even be bothered to send out a form rejection email. Just give us some freakin' closure!
  19. Huge congrats to everyone who got positive news today! I'm starting to feel pretty lonely here, might have to make a support group for those of us still waiting on that first offer :/
  20. NW has a few good people in areas I'm interested in, and I'm definitely more qual than quant. Overall I think it would be a good fit for me (unless the dysfunction really is terrible, but I've managed some extremely hostile workplaces before so I doubt it could be anywhere near the worst I've seen). IR subfield, so holding out some hope still...
  21. Might be grasping at straws here, but looking at the board I can't help but notice all the Northwestern notifications from 2017 are for Theory at the moment. So...maybe it's by subfield? :/
  22. I'll take some solace in that then. And who knows, maybe we will all be happily proven wrong by NW!
  23. If this is the case than I'm at 1 rejection, 1 waitlist (GWU, which I figure to be about a rejection), and 5 to go
  24. Early morning stress here. Still hoping to hear from Northwestern (or anywhere) before the weekend
  25. A delay in emails may just be a matter of the system they are using. Some university systems run overnight, so the auto emails may be generated at the close of business or midnight, depending on the school. Or it may just be the general slowness that can happen in academia sometimes
