  1. I'll be joining Princeton EE. Anyone else taking the silicon lab course before classes?
  2. Princeton has a small and high quality department of EE, which only focuses on certain research areas. It primarily excels in the areas of information theory, and electrical materials and devices. It has few faculty interested in IC design. On the other hand UCLA does not have the all round ivy prestige, but has a strong EE department. It excels in IC design, and has Razavi (wow!) as a prof and Samueli (founder of Broadcom) as an alumni.
  3. Both have good programs, but have strengths is different areas. Ultimately, the decision will depend on the research compatibility of the university and on the funding provided. In order to give a more detailed explanation you will have to tell us more about your background.

I have the same questions as a previous poster.... Does anyone know what's the probability of a first year grad getting a single room the in GC? What exactly does a double room mean? Does a double room mean you share the whole room or just a bathroom with a roommate? Thanks.
