From what I've gathered Georgetown is the better brand name - more connections etc.
I don't know about international reputation.

Yeah no funding for Elliott.
Waiting to hear back about Gtown.
I like the study abroad aspect because I want to go back to Argentina (where I went for undergrad - also conveniently the GW program goes to the same school that my undergrad exchange went to)

Hey all,
just posing a question regarding two programs.
I was accepted to both Georgetown, for their Conflict Resolution masters. and the Elliott School.
I'm really conflicted between both programs.
Any general advice or pros and cons?
Anything would be much appreciated...this is such a difficult decision.

Is anyone planning on going to the Dept of gov open house on April 9th?
-
Yeah, I did call them to make sure everything was there, as one of my recommenders had issues, so I know it is fine. However, this just recently happened. I don't know. At this point, I am not too concerned about GWU.
That is weird.
Well, best of luck elsewhere!

When I go to check my GW application status, I get nothing. I am told my application is not complete? Yet, I know I submitted it (and have a confirmation to prove it). Anyone else seeing this?
Just because it was submitted does not mean the supporting documents were received/processed. I would think they would have informed you if you were missing anything way earlier though.
That's strange.
Perhaps call them tomorrow?

My status says the application is still under review.
I got an email from GW yesterday saying that my admissions decision would be ready monday....so hopefully that means everyones!

Congratulations!
Thank you!

Application for COnflict Resolution at Georgetown being forwarded to the Dean.

I have not heard back!!!
I'm getting really nervous, i went for an open house in October and the administrative coordinator of the program told me that they usually send out emails in February informing (accepted) students that the application is being fowarded to the dean of the college - and its a rarity that the dean will reject an applicant the the program accepted. I'm assuming that the snow situation in DC threw things off a bit. But CR is where i want to be!
I'm coming straight out of undergrad.
</edit> I just heard from them..actually. admitted! Good luck!

- Hi there! Have you heard back from the CR department?! Curious, as I am waiting as well. Are you coming straight from undergrad or with some work experience?

Received official rejection from American (SIS) today.
How did you get your rejection?
I received a sketchy mailing from American telling me about a one -year graduate program...when I definitely applied to SIS.
