Hey guys, I just got my physics GRE score and it's really bad. I am wondering if I still have the chance to get into the graduate school for 2017 fall. Here are some schools I am going to apply, please give me some suggestion kindly. Background: International Student with B.S degree on Physics Research area: Experimental High Energy Particle Physics on New Particle searches (Dark Matter) GPA: 3.14 (overall), 3.2 (major), rank: 4/34 (professors gave us bad scores every semester, that's kinda traditional in our department. Also the reason why we only got 34 students in last year, normally we got 60 in the first year) TOEFL: 93 with 26 on speaking GRE: 313 (Verbal 145, Quan 168, AWA 3.5) PGRE: 550 17% Job Experience: 5 years LEGO lecturer teaching programming on LEGO Mindstorm NXT/EV3 with LabView (in English). Volunteer or leadership: 1 semester - leader of International Voluteer team, 1 year - Presdient of Student Association on Physics Department. Award: Academic Excellent Award * 1, Volunteer Service Award. Publication: none Research experience: 1 year on Typhoon track analysis at Fire Department. 6 months on AFM software/GUI development with C++, C/ JAVA, Linux at National research institute of Physics. ( These experiences are not related to my future research, but I've learned useful skills which may be helpful for my application.) My strategy on application is contacting the Professors from different Universities who are focusing on the research area as mine. And I got some great feedback. I am not sure if this helps my application but I think it shows my passion. And I know my GPA and PGRE(even GRE) could be harmful to my application, so I put more schools in my list. I am hoping you can give me some suggestion about which one has the better chance to me and maybe share your experience about getting the admission with bad physics GRE, etc. I appreciate all your help!
