Aw great - I am so glad! I just got off the phone with both the directors

Just denied my acceptances to Jefferson and South Carolina, got off the waitlist and accepted to my second choice and also waiting to hopefully get off the waitlist of my top choice --hope this helps some of you out!

Just to update you since you were very kind to update all of us. There was 8 people at the 4/7 interview and they said there are 28 interviewees total. They said there was still a few applicants to be interviewed, maybe smaller dates or by Skype? I too really enjoyed Jefferson and maybe we will see each other there!
Thanks so much for the info -- appreciate it!

@TK1616 did you feel like the article was a quiz of some sort when discussing it? I only assumed we would have 10 people because on the doodle pole it said there were 29 interviewees so I figured it was about 10 each day :-) I have to prepare some questions for my interviewers! I always feel like I don't have enough because they answer all my questions during the information sessions!
No it didn't feel like a quiz at all! It was really laid back and you just discuss different aspects of the article. I really wouldn't worry too much, it was an overall low stress day in my opinion

Thanks for the information! How long was each interview? And how did you like it?!
I believe each interview was about 25-30 mins!! I liked the program a lot. I really liked the way curriculum is set and they arranged it so that all 6 students are taking the same type of rotation at the same time which I found great as well. Center city, Philadelphia is also an awesome place to live since I am in the city a lot. Good luck on the interview!

Has anyone interviewed with Jefferson yet? I believe theres like 10 of us that day and im wondering if interviews are individual or group ?
I interviewed at Jefferson already! However we only had 5 that day (I think that's because they sent out their invites late so it wasn't possible for people to come on such short notice but I live in the area). The day is basically divided into two parts. One part consists of 3 interviews and the second part consists of an article discussion and a tour. In between the two parts you get a break where you get lunch. I'm not sure if the structure of your day will be different since you have a lot more people but I'm sure it will be similar. Hope this helps!

For those who haven't heard from Hopkins and Icahn yet I called both offices today
Hopkins said they put in a lot of decisions today so we would hear possibly tomorrow or Wednesday
Icahn said they were still screening candidates as well
Hope this puts some people at ease!!

Anyone know if Boston or Icahn send out their invites in waves or not??? Trying not to get too nervous hahah

Has anyone started to apply to jobs in case they don't get into a program this year? I wasn't sure how to go about this because I don't want to interview or get hired by someone for me to just tell them I might be going to grad school in the fall. Not sure when to start applying or how to go about this so any advice would be so helpful -- thanks!!

I am not sure if this has been asked on this thread before, but are there any suggested readings I should be on the lookout for? I am currently reading "Ethical Dilemmas in Genetics and Genetic Counseling" and would love to read more from other sources prior to interviewing.
Hi GC Hopeful, I see on that it says in your tagline/signature on the bottom that you got an interview at Stanford already - congrats!!!!!
do you mind me asking when you got the email??

Hi! I'm applying for the Fall 2017 cycle and was wondering if anyone had any tips on whether or not I should explain the few poor grades that I have on my transcript in my personal statement? Not sure if explaining the grades will just highlight my poor performance negatively or will help in terms of how those poor grades made me work harder and get my grades up?
Any advice would be so helpful, thanks!
