Yeah, I would fly out to all of the offers you have if you are at least considering them a little bit (and can spare the time). Never know what's gonna happen -- maybe the visit changes your mind and you really like it afterwards. I think it's important to talk to some current grad students all the POI's you are considering before making up your mind. If it's your last choice I obviously wouldn't bother.

Congrats! Hope more Caltech offers are coming out this week then. On another note -- did people accepted by Columbia also got offered a Dean's fellowship? Trying to find out whether this is a normal thing everybody gets or a special fellowship. Can't really find anything on the websites.

Do you think Stanford has sent out all acceptances already? I doubt it judging from the results database.

It's been a slow week. Really hope Stanford will send out more offers soon. And Caltech should also send out the majority of theirs soon.

Congrats! Did you hear from a POI from Stanford and what specialisation did you apply for?

I've only heard of one person who's gotten an offer so far. Looking at the previous years it seems like they really start giving out offers around mid Jan, so I reckon people might hear next week. Same goes for Caltech, which I am also waiting for.

Ah, that's unfortunate. Oh well, one can't expect acceptances from everywhere.

@ those of you who have heard from Berkeley - what specialisation did you apply for?

Just received an admission email from UCSD. first west coast school for me.

It was an email from the admissions committee with a letter. No contact from a POI yet.

Just heard from Columbia

It won't be a quasi interview. You are already admitted so don't worry about it. I skyped with a prof from UChicago after being admitted - took up the offer with the prof who emailed me about being admitted. He offered to answer any questions I had about the program or the university, so I just read through the website again and wrote down some questions I wanted to ask. Was all very informal.

Applied for theoretical Chemistry. Sent out my application in early November and heard back more than 2 weeks ago, I think.

I'm international and have only heard back from UChicago so far.

Yeah I applied to UChicago. Submitted early Nov and got an offer last week.
