i called columbia today and they said they're still in the process of sending out invites--it depends on which faculty are reviewing your app. also, they apparently haven't decided on an interview weekend date yet.

Also, does anyone know if Duke and Columbia are still sending out interview invites, or if I haven't received anything from them it means I am rejected at this point?

Just got rejected by Stanford... couldnt believe they were still working this late

The person I know said that he wasn't involved in the admission process, but it is very likely that they don't send out invites at the same time (so dont give up hope!), and we should hear back very soon!

Yeah that's the only thing I saw too. I also asked someone I know that's a phd student at the BE department and hopefully he will answer me soon

Nothing yet. From what I see from previous years in the results section, they seem to be spread out through January. Keeping some hope :/

Good luck everybody! I applied last year and can field general questions regarding the application process or just stuff in general about programs at different schools. As a general note, there is no such thing as the perfect candidate. For example, at the time I applied, I had no publications (and was worried that this would hurt my chances). Turned out not to matter. Schools are judging you for your research potential, not for the research you've outputted. Sure, the fact that you've published stuff indicates that you have the potential to succeed in a research-driven career, but its not necessary. In my case, my GPA and letters of recommendation probably helped offset the lack of publications. That being said, no need to worry about one part of your application being weak!
