  2. Absolutely nothing from NYU and I am gutted. Stanford seems to be sort of a Fort Knox when it comes to application info. Didn't apply there but friends of mine did with other programs and it seems policy of the whole uni.

  3. Thank you, it's a relief to be inn definitely. But still the wait for other programs is torturing. I think if they interviewed you, they're definitely interested in you and your project and deem it a good fit. The problem with interviews is that you never now who's with you in the pool and who of the faculty sees some reflection of their research interests in yours, thus stands up for you. It's all a guessing game. Where else did you apply?
  4. any word from NYU on your end?

  5. Hy mate, I am not too far from you at the moment in Mannheim. I was interviewed, I think Monday two weeks ago. They got back to me Thursday after that to tell me that I am inn. It was super quick.I thought I messed up the interview. Santhf only got contacted a couple of days ago, so it looks like their admission process is rather drawn out. Any other way I can help you?
  6. Hey Rudy,

was waitlisted last night. "We had a large applicant pool (160!) from which to select for a few spots, and have landed up with a strong top pool, including a strong waiting list. " Where else did you apply?

  7. You're wonderful! We will meet up, latest when we're in the US. Sadly never made it to Iran, but it's very high up on my list. I used to live in Syria some years back. Let me know if you need any travel advice friends, contacts there. Obviously you have a home wherever I have one. Nothing from either CUNY or Columbia. And nothing from NYU. I applied to the Faye Ginsburg's program, so there's hope that that has a different deadline. I normally don't write POI's. I am superstitious on that one and think I might jinx it, but for NYU, I just might.
  8. As I was reading this Beethoven's 'Ode to Joy' started ringing in my ears. Persiandoc you made it! I am very, very happy for you. Now you're inn and can wait until that acceptance letter from Yale comes inn. I am sure there was an earthquake on your side of the globe, as a massive weight dropped off your shoulders. Send you all joy, celebrate!!!!! S.
  9. Hi Siad - did you hear from Duke? I'm still waiting, checking my emails evry hour or so... well, good luck !!!

  10. I am with that. Lot's of friend's booze and limited internet access!
  11. Hey guys and gals, hope you're all well and dandy. Just heard from Duke. Got wait-listed. That potentially extends the tantalizing wait for another 7 weeks. Anybody inn, anybody rejected? Hope you're all well and are developing coping mechanisms. If anybody has one, please share! Peace, S.
  12. @Persiandoc: All bios it seems. @Peanut: Or it's a few anxious souls, trying to put that anxiety into binary codes
  13. Here, waiting, just like you brother!
  14. Congratulations Distand Wizard, looks like you'll be off the forum, eh? and congratulations Persiandoc. I know you're still suspended and that's an absolute pain, but hey, you're wait-listed in Princeton, your good! Happy for you both!
  15. I wonder how many have been interviewed. Persiandoc mentioned that some get in without interview, but that might just be the ones coming out of NYU.
