[2017 Applications Thread]

After losing patience, and knowing that at least one interview call was made on Feb 4 (Learnt this through Grad cafe), I emailed Syracuse Newhouse (Communications PHD F17) asking if all decisions had been made or if there was still hope, and this is the response I got: 

"Thank you for reaching out.  As of now, you are not on our short list for interviews.  However, final admission decisions are not made until the beginning of March.  Should the committee go back to the pool and request an interview, we’ll let you know."

I know it seems bleak, but i can't help hoping. Its my only hope, I've been rejected from all other schools. I wish i knew one way or the other. Anyone else waiting to hear from them? Anyone else out there know if they are done making their decisions? 

I guess its almost the beginning of March, so it doesn't matter in any case.

This is me right now; glad to know I'm not the only one completely in the dark about what's happening vis-a-vis UW.  Judging from past years on the "Results" tab, it's conceivable that those of us who have not yet been contacted by UW have either (a) been admitted, (b) made it past the "initial screening" stage, or (c) been waitlisted. 

Hi everyone. I don't know about UW, but i finally uncovered Cornell's mystery. Apparently they had composed my rejection last week, and sent it to me .. but I never received it? They claim that maybe it went to spam? Anyway, my friend went to ask in the admission office yesterday and the officer there told my friend that all rejections were sent together last Friday. So if you haven't heard yet from Cornell, you are most likey waitlisted!

Hey everyone, I can see 4 rejections for Cornell communication PhD 2017 but not a single acceptance or waitlist. Do you think that they send out rejections first? Or that those who have been accepted simply didn't post anything? Thanks so much
