  1. So does that mean that the department has sent out all their offers (or their first wave)? Or you just found out you were waitlisted because of your connections in the department? Congrats on Cornell! You have a great option no matter what happens with Hopkins, Penn, and Harvard.
  2. Are you the Hopkins waitlist on the results page? I haven't seen any other news about Hopkins other than that
  3. I decided not to contact anyone at Princeton because their website was pretty intimidating about how professors are really busy at this time of year (in regards to visiting ahead of time). I also had contacted a professor at Northwestern and felt a little snubbed- she basically just redirected me to the department website and her personal website to get more information about her research. It deterred me from emailing anyone at Princeton because I didn't want to annoy anyone (as the professor at Northwestern seemed annoyed that I emailed her).
  4. Did anyone contact a POI at Princeton during the admissions process? Wondering if not contacting anyone will affect my chances (assuming they haven't sent out all their acceptances already)
  5. I may be reading into it too much then! I declined based on fit, not on the funding package.
  6. The stipend they offered me was pretty good, but my offer letter made it pretty clear that continued funding isn't guaranteed. I've been offered amazing funding packages from Penn State and Minnesota, with guaranteed continued funding.
  7. Thank you so much! I'll definitely make sure I have those options. I've been accepted to Minnesota, Ohio State, Penn State, and UConn. I declined my UConn offer this weekend.
  8. Hi everyone. I'm completely new to gradcafe (didn't even know it existed), so not sure if this is the proper thread to be asking this on. I've been accepted to a few programs, and am on schedule to visit some of them to help make my decision. Can anyone give me tips on what to wear/bring? I'm a woman, coming straight from undergrad. I want to look professional, but I'm not sure exactly how to dress. I know I'm already accepted and that what I wear won't make or break anything, but I'm still really worried. Any help (or redirection to another thread) would be greatly appreciated.
