You guys I need some help — RCA or RISD for graphic design?

I went to RISD and the graphic design program is fantastic and super acknowledged! The curriculum tends to lean more towards the conceptual side and RISD in general I think likes experimental work :)

I don't know much about RCA, but of course their reputation is impeccable

It seems like you can't go wrong either way! Good luck and Congrats on the acceptances!

Haha unless I'm losing my mind (very possible at this point)! I spoke with her right before my interview today during an informal Q&A session with Leslie. She said that once the committees choose their candidates, they have to get the list of accepted candidates approved by the dean. She said theres also a bunch of bureaucratic processes that have to take place before formally giving an acceptance letter.

She said she was going to just make phone calls because she didn't want those who weren't getting good news to keep waiting.

Did she tell you this in person? Communication with Hunter during this admission process has been a little bit spotty...

I've got my Hunter interview tomorrow and I feel so weird about it. The grad admin person there seems so weird in all of our communications, so many mistakes that aren't little whoopsies. Today was a shit show in terms of emails and tomorrow is my interview. :blink::blink::blink:

I had the exact same experience........

All people waiting to hear from Columbia post interview. I just got off of the phone with a current student and was informed that he was notified 2 weeks post interview before he was accepted.

Don't count yourselves out just yet! :D

Thank you for the information! What discipline did the current student apply for?

Just called them. It seems like they will notify everyone the 15th March. But it seems that there has already been some decisions made but she said she was not sure if all acceptances have been sent. So apparently if the head of the department does not send anything before, an official answer will come then from the admissions. Kind of sad here imagining I will get a no. But still holding on some hope and refreshing my email and the forum all the time.

I called as well~ I spoke to Alex and he mentioned that each committee has their own timeline. Some will call their accepted candidates right away while some take longer to decide. He mentioned that there are sometimes gaps of 2 weeks between people who are notified of their acceptance and some are even notified at the end of march! I'm trying to stay hopeful as well :/

Congratulations to everyone so far! And to you guys who haven't gotten quite what you wanted; don't give up! I don't believe in the theory of No, rather I believe in No(t right now). So keep making the work and most importantly stay true to who you are and what motivates you and why you make art.

I also wanted to share with you guys. I got admitted into SAIC with a full scholarship in sculpture!

Congratulations!!!! Very excited for you ???

I got invited but have not received a follow-up email with further instructions yet. When are you interviewing and for each department? And are you going in person or doing it by Skype?

I'm applying for New Genre and my interview is on march 3 in person

Was just getting nervous because I haven't heard any follow up yet about what to prepare!
