Has anyone received an invitation letter from JHU SAIS for the "Dean's Tatser Lecture" on February 8th? Can I assume that this means that I got accepted or I will be interviewed? Maybe everyone who applied for the program received this email?

Hi I got the same email as well and was wondering the same thing lol, and what program did u apply for in Penn state?

  2. Hey guys!! ?

I think it is about time to start this year's application thread. I'm sure many of you have already started the application process and some are finished. I hope this thread will help you in ways it can and give you as much info on schools as possible.

I am applying for the third time (due to financial reasons could never accept the offers), you know what they say third is the charm. Personally i will be applying for MA in International Relations/Affairs with concentrations in Development and Human Rights.

Best of luck to all of you and hopefully this time i actually get to go to Grad School ;)

And below are the schools that i would be applying to for the Fall 2019 term:

    1. Yale Jackson Institute of Global Affairs
    2. Baruch CUNY Austin W. Marxe School of public and International Affairs
    3. Penn State school of International Affairs
    4. University of Georgia
    5. Seton Hall University

My UGPA is 3.6 i will have worked 2 years by next summer. My GREs are in the 153s not that but i will try to work with it.

  4. Hey fellow students!

I have a question about Rec Letters. This would be my 3rd time applying for grad school. Aah i know it is an emotionally exhausting process life happens. Anyways, my question is this means i would have to ask my professors for the 3rd time to write me a letter. I kind of feel shy/kind of anxious and embarrassed  about asking them 3rd time around. Is it ok to ask your professor to send in the letter for 3rd time?

    thank you,

  6. HIIIIIII EVERYONE

I GOT admitted to PENN STATE and was offered 25k for 2 years, (12,250$ per year) plus 2,500K for any internship and such,

I am really grateful for the offer, but i need 100% funding in order to attend since the school's estimated cost is around 50K for one year (I am an INTERNATIONAL Student),

I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO, and yes i have researched every database, website on the internet for scholarships and because of various reasons, age, work experience, country residency, major and stuff there was no suitable scholarship out there,

THEREFORE, i have no choice but to TRY negotiate with  the school

if any of you have negotiated before, please provide me tips

    ANY ADVICE will DO :D

  7. Hey guys,

So I'm in a bit of situation here.

I have taken 4 classes with the professor all were 300 and 400 level courses and i got As in all. I know that he was in administrative leave and then eventually got fired because of some misconduct with other professor and some students complained about some insulting and sexual contexts were spoken on some topics. Any who, the professor knows me well, i had done some good job on his classes regardless i feel like those are kind of the professors whom i should ask LOR from. Should i still ask him for LOR? Does it even matter that he was fired?

    Thank you,

  8. Hey guys haven't seen any Fletcher thread so started this one ;)

I applied on Nov.15h just in time for the deadline.

Checking my email every day even though i know its too soon.

    Little bit info of myself:

I am an international student and have a PolSci and IR major from US public university, graduated in May2017, currently working in my home country.

Last Year i applied to NYU and BU while i was a college senior and got into their MA programs however there was no scholarship so i declined both the offer.

Good Luck to all of you

  9. hey guys!!

I have just applied to Fletcher School MALD Fall'18 Early Decision, I'm checking my email every hour. Depending on the answer i am also planning to apply to Columbia, John Hopkins, NYU and UChicago and maybe LSE but not sure.

I have gotten to NYU last year but there was no scholarship so i declined the offer but this year I'm applying for the MPA for NYU.

If any one applied to Fletcher Early decision let me know ;)

  10. HEY GUYS!!!!!!:D

If you have applied or planning to apply for regular decision you are welcome too!!

ALSO YOU ARE WELCOME TO DISCUSS ANY OTHER IR SCHOOLS THAT YOU APPLIED OR PLANNING TO APPLY!!!!!

  11. Hey guys!!!!

So i have recently started my application to Tufts MALD, NYU Wagner, UChicago Harris and Brandeis. I am an international student graduated from a public university in the US this may. My plan is to work in my country until next summer and by then hopefully get accepted to any of the schools and start my MA. My GPA is 3.6 pol sci major minored in IR, my GRE is really not that great i would say average and from a developing country, i have not had any internship whilst i was in college. However, i would probably start working for the government (my country) from this November and make up that "work experience" preferred by Grad Schools.

My main is concern is the "money". I got a full scholarship from my country to study in the US however, i can not get another scholarship from my government for MA again. I was previously accepted to NYU GSAS and Boston University, however i had to decline the offer because of financial reasons. This year i want to do it right, i have researched and all the schools i am applying to offer various schorlaship, grants and TA etc, and i understand that it is extremely hard and rare to get FULL Ride for MA from the schools i am applying to.

Can you guys tell me what other external sources i need to consider? Ex: their website, name etc. Considering that i am an international student. Also, when i should start applying to external funding? After i get acceptance or while i am applying ?

    Thank you guys too much!!!!!!!

  12. Hey guys!!!!

So i have been really wanting to go to law school particularly to NYU LAW, i know its T14 and hard to get in. However, i was wondering if any of you got into NYU Law or any of the T14 schools and would you mind sharing your score and GPA?

Also i am international student so how did you guys manage the funding?

And feel free to share some advice ;)

    Thank you!!!!!

I did hear back. It was an unofficial acceptance email; official acceptances will come later I'm being told. Judging by previous acceptance dates, the last two weeks of February is usually when they send out favorable decisions. That being said, I'm not sure if this means that they've already selected all the candidates.

What's your background? Did you get an interview?

Hey oh ok i guess i will just prepare myself mentally to not expect an acceptance from the program then, well. But Congrats to you though !!!! I did not get anything from their side yet. And did hey mention financial aid in the offer ? thank you

  14. Hey guys i was going through the results and just saw that one person was accepted to the Harvard Graduate School of Arts &Science REECA program, did any one else her back anything? if You did not hear from the yet, does this result to a rejection letter? i'm just nervous waiting haha
