Whew, that is actually a huge relief to hear. I had seen a couple of (unsubstantiated) posts either earlier in this thread or last year's that sometimes interviews don't happen but aren't an ominous indication of non-recommendation, but hearing it confirmed definitely helps me breathe a bit more. I'm still hoping to hear news of an interview, but I suppose if one never comes to pass and it all turns out well in the end, I can't complain!

Best of luck to you, btw. What is the focus of your project/study?

I am applying an MA in Music Education from the Institute of Education at UCL. My focus is alternative practices in English music classrooms. The British system of music education is very holistic and comprehensive, allowing students to study modern popular music, as opposed to the US system which tends to be very focused on ensemble performances. What are you hoping to study/research?

Also best of luck to you!! :)

    Hey all,

First time posting (though I've read through the entirety of this year and last year's postings in the past couple days), but I'm a current first-time applicant and semi-finalist for a UK Partnership Research/Study award at the Royal Veterinary College. I've been driving myself crazy the past week or so having not heard any news about an interview invitation (and also compulsively checking spam filters to ensure I didn't miss anything!) and watching the days slowly creep by...now that some countries' applicants seem to be hearing back, has anyone from the UK still not been invited to interview? The award I applied for is literally brand new this year, so I'm wondering if that might have something to do with the relative radio silence about communicating with a semi-finalist for this specific award.

Best of luck to everyone, by the way, and congrats to those starting to hear back!

    Hey there!

I am in a very similar situation regarding my UK partnership award to UCL. I only know of one other person applying to the same university who also has not heard back about an interview. So I think there very well could be a few more of us who they still have not gotten to. It's possible the UK is being delayed.

Also, there have been some posts here and in the 2016-17 Fulbright forum if you care to search back about someone's FPA saying that the UK occasionally does not interview candidates that go on to win because their application is strong enough.

I hope this gives you at least something to go off of...I am still checking my spam filters very regularly!!

    Cheers

@inkstainedarm and @jlking9 I am in the same boat as you two! I applied for partnership with UCL and I still haven't heard either. We could all be rejected, they could be taking longer this year (not surprising with some of the issues going on in our country) or perhaps they aren't doing as many interviews as before. Who knows :(. Unfortunately, there are just too many variables which mean we have to continue the nerve-racking process of waiting it out for more results  Hopefully it's good odds that so few of us UK partnerships have heard anything and it means a delay not rejection. Best of luck to you two!!

    Hey there!

I am also a UCL Fulbright semi-finalist (I'm going for the UCL - Institute of Education award) and I have yet to hear back about a phone interview. Have you head from anyone yet? Are they still delayed? I just want to know if I should keep waiting to hear from someone...

    Either way, best of luck!!
