While we the applicants wait for the decision...

Any ideas how would you express your emotions and reaction if the decision is to be positive?

I would probably jump off my seat and raise a toast to my family and friends, and then go for a vacation to celebrate :)

On the other hand if the admission decision is not positive, I think I still have gained a lot in terms of self-reflection,  strength in many relationships, and above all I now know what exactly needs to be done as the vision is more clear and focused.

    Thoughts?

Before day breaks, I wish to share my reflection:

If it's positive, I'll be overjoyed. Hugs and kisses to everyone. After some time, when Financial applications are out, the reality of funding requirements will seep in.

If its negative, terribly sad. Hugs and kisses to everyone. After some time, will get by and content with the thought there's no more need for extra financial requirements.

But HKS or not, I'm just as determined to bring out the best in what I do. I am humbled by this experience and I shall keep it to remind me that the question Ask what you can do is not simply for those who got accepted, but for everyone who accepts it.

Happy to have shared the experience of waiting for Harvard with you guys.

    Cheers!

    Twas the Day 'Fore Admissions

'Twas the day 'fore admissions, and all through the forum,
Not a person was working, they'd built quite a quorum.
Their essays were written, with pride and with care,
But would they get in? Not a one was aware.

They paced through their offices and homes oh so stressed,
While their little hearts beated away in their chests.
They gnawed at their nails and rended their flesh,
They rapped on their keyboards, and tapped at refresh.

An email arrived! The time! It has come!
Oh, no, wait, it's just a letter from mum.
"Ugh, Mom!" they did shout. "Can't you see that I wait?
For a letter from Harvard to come on this date?"

And far off in Cambridge, the admissions committee,
Laughed and sneered and guffawed without pity.
They sipped on their mai tais and laughed at the plebs,
"Having fun waiting, you dorks and you dweebs?"

But at last they decided, long enough they had waited,
They'd read and reread, discussed and debated.
They gave off a shout and it rang through the city
"Behold a decree from the admissions committee!"

They turned to the students at The Grad Cafe
Who'd fretted and talked, and stopped working all day,
"We think you're quite swell, and you're so very cool
Welcome to Harvard's John F. Kennedy School!"

It may be past HKS' regular time to release admissions. However, I was accepted to the Harvard Graduate School of Design last week. I got a call from a professor at 5:30pm eastern (2/28), and they released the official decision at around the same time on Thursday (3/2). I think most people had given up waiting because it was after 'working hours', but they still came out.

Unfortunately, this means I'll be checking my email for the rest of the day...

    Congratulations

Seems like everyone's changed except @MCMPA17

Either way,  good luck everyone!  I'll be at work tomorrow hoping the decisions are released by 2p

It could mean the other way. Either, I'll be alright. Reading from David's post, I have other things to worry about.

Best of luck to us all.
