Another other alternates at McGill hear back yet? :B

I confirmed with McGill that they don't provide relative rankings to the applicants (I suppose the policy varies for each school). Oh well, I guess I'll find out by the end of the month if the research gods smiled upon me.

Saaame here (Western). I feel like my life is a waiting lobby hahaha.
I don't imagine they will tell us the ranking for the alternative list. But I might contact my graduate secretary and see.
Yeah, I contacted the grad admin and will see how they respond. I think that if they do provide rankings, it would be relative standing rather than the specific rank. I just want to know if I should get the disappointment out of the way now or wait a few weeks lol

Welp, I'm listed as an alternate for the university I'll be attending (McGill). The waiting game grinds to an unbearable extension.
Is there any way to see one's relative position on the waiting list or score, or is that for CGS-D only?

It's based on the general reaction I've heard, but I've read other complaints re: access to instructors and the hands off nature of instruction. I guess it's just the bigger name factor.

Hi! I have a bit of a weird question, but I’ve spent a lot of time ruminating and would like to hear more perspectives. For the 2017-18 admission session, I was accepted to both the London School of Economics and McGill for the MSc Comparative Politics and MA Political Science programs respectively. My ‘discipline’ is a combination of IR and comparative politics with a focus on historical and small-n analysis.
Right now it seems like it is a tradeoff between a more affordable in a familiar education system (with better funding) for McGill versus a better name on my resume but higher quality education (LSE, though I was a bit concerned with the entrance cohort size).

Hi folks, I was wondering if any of you know anything about McGill's PSCI department's deferral policies. I was accepted to the MA program and while I do want to attend, other circumstances might make ideal to wait a year.

Still playing the waiting game - at this point I don't expect to receive anything, but I just wish the process was a bit more transparent. Oh well.
