  1. Hey everyone,

I have a few questions pertaining to Anthropology. I have always wanted to be a professor of the social sciences, and over the past few years I have become extremely interested in the culture and history of early human civilizations. I would love to spend my days researching (and teaching about) early humans, such as Homo Erectus, and also about early civilizations and their cultural ways of life. Would Anthropology be a good route to take? I was considering doing my last two years of undergraduate as an honors degree in Anth so that i would be able to attend graduate school after. I have a few questions about this, however. I live in Canada and I'm wondering if i will NEED to know a second language to become a doctorate student of Anth someday? Likewise, what type of grades should I shoot for if I hope to get into a masters and then PhD in Canada? My grades are always anywhere from 83-93%, so should I just try and maintain this pace? :)

    Thanks everyone!

  2. Hey everyone!

I hope to eventually receive my PhD in psychology, however I have transferred undergraduate institutions 3 times. I did the first half of my first year at one school, then I transferred to another school for the remainder of my first year and my entire second year, and then after that I transferred back to the school I originally attended for my final two years. I have good grades (GPA ~ 3.88), and the only difference is that at one school my grades were shown in percentage form (e.g., 90%) and at the other school my grades are only shown in letter form (e.g., A+)... My question is: will having transferred schools so many times effect my chances of getting in somewhere?

    Thanks everyone :)

  3. Hey everyone!

I'm new to the forum and I'm glad I found this site because I have wanted to ask this question to someone. I have a deep interest in dreaming, more specifically why we humans dream and the psychology of our dreaming. I am currently a third year undergraduate student doing an honours in psychology and I have always wanted to spend my life studying dreams as some sort of psychologist (or however one would go about becoming a dream researcher). What path would you guys/girls recommend I take if this is my desire?:) I don't even know what field of psychology to specifically specialize in because there are just so many haha! My GPA trough 2.5 years is about 3.87/4.00, and I'm hoping I could get this up a touch by the end of my degree. I included that because perhaps knowing my grades would help steer me in some direction!:) Thanks guys!
