  1. I am actually on a waitlist too. Here is what the professor there told me. "If you have an offer on the table from another university, you can ask for a couple of days extension." If that school isn't willing to give you the extension, I guess you will have to make your decision by Friday then. Nevertheless, accepting one offer doesn't automatically mean that the other school would know it. However, you will have to sign some paperwork (or electronically), so it might be hard to get out, if you later find out that you also get the offer from the other school. Good luck!!
  2. I am leaning towards Stanford; however, USC offers a great financial aid package. Programs: Management Science and Engineering in Stanford offers eight sub-areas. Plus the program is well established. Industrial and Systems Engineering in USC is a fast growing program. $$: Stanford offers an one-year fellowship. USC offers a two-year Provost's fellowship, on top of which they also throw in a two-year scholarship from women in engineering organization. [Well, maybe I should also take into consideration that living in downtown LA might be spendier than living in Palo Alto.] Oh, by the way, there are professors in both schools whose work I'm interested in. Any suggestions?? Many thanks!!
