  1. Hello everyone, I officially accepted an offer from Syracuse University for the fall. This forum has helped me manage all the stress and anxiety that unfortunately can come from application season. Best of luck to everyone and thank you for providing a home via this forum for all my questions and worries. You guys are the best ?
  2. Although I am still waiting on a few places, and pretty much made up my mind on where I believe I will be going, SMU finally got back to me yesterday and told me I was waitlisted. It seemed a bit late to be notified, but again, not a rejection.
  3. Did you hear via the portal or email? Congrats on the acceptance!
  4. Hello All! It may just be my impatient side, but beyond the results page if anyone has received an update on an application they submitted to the following programs, I would really appreciate any information you could provide. It seems as if this early-to-mid March date may be the next period of bulk decisions. Thank you! Programs: Boston College Northeastern University of Iowa University of Utah Syracuse University
  5. I am also waiting on SMU and have heard nothing via the portal or otherwise. Hopefully soon!
  6. Yes triplets! It is pretty funny to think at least half the number of accepted students are on this site
  7. Congrats! Looks like we are Stony Brook twins. Are you planning on attending the visit day?
  8. First acceptance this cycle came today via email from the DGS at Stony Brook. What a relief after two rejections. Please let me know if you got in and are considering going, I would love to discuss the program with you.
  9. @psstein, just to clarify, you mean the following week of 02/11, correct. Thanks!
  10. First response back and it was a rejection from Washington University in St. Louis. I have to admit it stung a little just because it is the first I have heard back from any school, but hey maybe I am getting the rejections out of the way first. An extremely short rejection too, only two sentences.
  11. @ltr317 being waitlisted at CUNY is better than a rejection; here's to hoping you have a very difficult decision to make because multiple programs extend very generous offers of admission! : )
  12. I can only imagine how hard the time difference is and I can related to the sleepless nights. Just have faith @pepe.s, we are all in this together, especially in this forum : ). Best of luck in your applications.
  13. Glad to see we could come to some sort of collegial consensus on the most recent posts ?; I for one am thankful to have the game today to serve as a pleasant distraction from the waiting game.
  14. That’s the worst part, I agree. Just trying to relax but the tendency to over check one’s email is very real.
  15. Still haven’t heard anything from St. Louis yet, so fingers are still crossed. It is one of my top choices.
  16. Right after I posted I saw your post; thank you for the quick reply. This may be a silly question, but was there a separate portal we can check? I just have the ApplyYourself login and I do not see an area that would change to reflect admission status. Thanks!
  17. Hey all, happy Friday! Just curious if anyone knew if acceptance emails or decisions had been sent out yet for Washington University in St. Louis (WashU). Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  18. Hey everyone, just wanted to provide an update that a friend of mine received an email notification this morning that he was accepted into the University of South Carolina's PhD program; so if you applied, maybe you will also be hearing some good news soon, fingers crossed!
  19. @TheHessianHistorian my apologies if you have already discussed your research interests, but who at Washington University in St. Louis are you looking are working with? I have also applied and it looks like a wonderful program. Thanks!
  20. Ah, birds of a feather, I am a 19th century Americanist as well but I work mostly on borderlands, women's history, and Mormonism, hence working with Farmer and Flores would be a wonderful fit. If you do get into UCONN and want a student perspective on the PhD program I have a couple friends who go and would be more than happy to pass along contact information.
  21. @ltr317 have you heard back from UConn yet? I applied two cycles ago to the 2016 cohort for their PhD program and it was quite the runaround. I hope you have better luck than I did! And who are you applying to work under at Stony Brook if I can ask? Thanks!
  22. @Qtf311 just curious as a fellow Stony Brook applicant, how did you hear back about your acceptance? Congratulations by the way!
