1. I think related experiences weigh AS MUCH AS GPA in the application of MSW. BTW, most schools demand a GRE to fix GPA under 3.0. Thus, Getting high score in GRE could help your situation a lot.
2. BTW, Terrim, I want to know your opinion on NYU and PITTSBURG's fame in social work field in the USA. Is it easy to find a job in other states, like CA after graduation from these schools?? Thanks again
3.

I just applied for schools according to the USNEWS Social Work ranking. Being out of USA, my primary resource could only be the online information. I considered U pitts because their social science seems to be excellent and could offer me comprehensive courses since I haven't decided whether I should confine myself to clinical or not. So pitts kind of means more space to me. In addition, I kind of like old state-owned university, no reasons. But NYU is quite a city-style univ and maybe too much disturbances^_^ Also, back in my home country, clinical sw is at its very very very beginning. Job opportunities are more plenty in Big NGOs and more pertinent with MACRO direction. So…… And BIG BIG cong on your Oxford~~~~~Beautiful Place, Excellent Univ
4.

Really appreicate your opnion since I'm an international student and know little about both the schools. Yes, my experience with pitts is better than yours but they do delay my admission information until I ask for via email. Upitts offered me 12,000/y and NYU offered me 15,000. I prefer NYU as well but the total cost is higher. And I'm a little worried about its clinical edge could hardly get me into any PHD program.
5. I've been admitted into both NYU and Upitts 2010Fall. After asking about the size of their program. I got a little confused about my final decision. NYU has admitted around 1000 MSW students this year, including full-time,part-time,extended one-year,etc, while Upitts admits about 250. Though the number of staff in silver school is a bit more than that of Upitts, their students far exceed Pitts. I'm concerned about resources silver school could offer per student. BTW, I'm an international student. Getting a PHD and then coming back home is on my future list(Not necessarily right after I got my MSW). I'm wondering if NYU's clinical edge is not as good as Upitts' comprehensive courses for me to apply for PHD. Any advice would be appreciated.
6. I'm wondering what's so special about Upitts and make it your dream school. I've been accepted into Upitts recently but haven't made a visit there. I have to make a choice between NYU and Pitts . Thank you.
