March?! To be honest, I understand why there is a delay but this is ridiculous. An August submission being returned in early March is preposterous.

No, I have no knowledge of anyone else (I'm currently in the field). But I'm just hazarding a guess that they want to disburse the funds that they have by now.

I'm guessing for us anthro folks if we haven't heard by now, it's probably a rejection.

So, if we don't hear by Jan. 15, can we still resubmit? I would think not, since we don't have any feedback from which to work (unless of course the project has changed in some significant way). It's kind of frustrating that they don't at least update us with the new external peer review date.

Anyone know how the government shutdown affected the panel review? When will we hear back? Any idea of whether or not it will be before the Jan. 15 deadline?

Has anyone who applied the past May 1st deadline and made it to the second round heard anything?

I also just got a rejection from Mantz today- not competitive. But a friend just got a tentative acceptance- "high in the rankings", whatever that means. Good luck all!

My status is also the same and the external peer review also started March 21. Fellow applicants in my cohort also haven't heard back. I don't think I'm getting it, so I'm not sure what's taking so long to send rejections. Perhaps the feedback needs to be uploaded?

Well, back to pending status again!

Yes, this happened to me as well. I'm assuming the same thing.

Strange, I didn't have a number after the president's comments. But I also didn't get past the initial 50% so perhaps they thought my proposal didn't even warrant a ranking. The reviewer's comments were pretty sloppy as well- lots of grammatical errors and calling me "he" when I made clear I was a "she" in my proposal, etc.

Where are you all seeing the number? I don't see that in the reviewers' comments.

Thanks ADDADB. My PO didn't change though the date changed so I guess one view on that is that it's negative. Oh well. We'll all know soon enough I guess.

Anyone know what it means when the status date changes but not the proposal status on Fastlane? My status date appears updated to this past Friday but the proposal status is still pending.

I'm going to Rutgers' CITE program with full funding for five years. I'm ecstatic- I want to do political anthropology and I love the program. Also, it was the only acceptance I got! Yet it was my personal top choice. Strange how things work out.

Could anyone fill me in on the reputation of Rutgers' CITE program? By reputation I mean happiness of PhD students, quality of profs and courses, rankings, job placements, etc. Thanks in advance.
