I am currently exploring schools to earn my MSW, but am nervous about my chances of being accepted.
I had a very difficult time in undergrad, due to personal issues, and graduated with a BA in Sociology but only with a 2.16 GPA. I know that is EXTREMELY LOW. However, I was accepted to and am now serving in the US Peace Corps as an education volunteer in Malawi and will finishing my service in July 2019. I am very worried about how my undergrad transcript will make me seem. I have very strong references and aside from my GPA I feel qualified.
Would anyone recommend taking the GRE for a program that doesn't require it? I have also considered extending my service another year and changing my job description to Youth Development - in hopes the position will align more with the social work program. Any and all advice would be appreciated for strengthening my application!
