Deadlines loom and I can't decide between Physical Chem PhD programs at Stanford, MIT or Northwestern. I think I would be happy with professors at all three, but to be honest, I'm concerned about quality of life on campus. I'm looking for an experience where I can really connect with people who are excited about their field and want a life outside the chem lab. I come from an undergrad experience where I loved the intensity and funny quirkiness of my fellow students, where everyone was very supportive and never too stressed out (despite the difficult academics).
Also, any thoughts on the differences between the three campuses and towns?
