Has anyone heard from Columbia Neurobiology and behavior for the theoretical neuroscience track?

There is one entry on the result page about being selected for next round of review I think.

I don't know what track you applied for but I called a few days ago and they said that theoretical neuroscience is going to take time and might come out in january. I am just trying to be hopeful. All the best!

Okay. So I called Columbia again. They said the committee is still deciding and you should hear from them in yearly January about the interviews. I am going to stop checking grad cafe till then and enjoy the break.

I applied only to Columbia and not heard from them. I called the office the other day and it seemed like they are going to send it the invites in January. But I am not sure about that given the interviews are in January

Yes. BMS makes more sense then. Which is the other interview conflicting with UCSD neuro?

When I visited UCSD, I was told that the neuro program is way more competitive than the other biology programs. I don’t know about BMS. With my career goals I would have accepted neuro. It’s a more specialized degree. Of course it’s your call. All the best!

I called UCLA today and they said they are not done sending invites. So there is some hope!

I called UCLA today and they said that they are not done with sending invites for interviews and the admissions committee is still reviewing applications. But UC Davis is done sending them

I don’t want to sound pessimistic but this seems like a generic email they sent to everyone who submitted the application. I hope I am wrong. All the best.

I called Columbia today. I am not sure but it seemed like they are going to send invites in Jan and are still making decisions. But given that the webpage says one round of interviews is 24-25 Jan, I don’t know whether to believe the information.

Thanks a lot! I actually work in a lab at Duke and would love to continue working here. As you can guess, i thought/think I had the best chance here and I am now worried about all of my applications! I will check in the office on Monday to see if they are done sending the invitations. Thanks again!
