  1. Hey Everyone!

I'm sure as most of you have found out recently, universities have forwarded their chosen Doctoral SSRHC proposals back towards the committees in order to be evaluated over the next couple of months! I'm a first time applicant currently finishing my Master's of Education at Queen's University and I was very fortunate to have my application selected! I wanted to create this thread so that we can be vulnerable, and share our thoughts, questions, and hopefully positive results going forward! Ā I can't wait to see how we all do!Ā

    Hi all.

This year I received and accepted CGS-M (SSHRC). I also applied for OGS. My understanding is that I cannot hold both, but that I could be offered both.

BUT, I recently found out that our grad administratorĀ at school removes our OGS applications for consideration if we'veĀ received and accepted CGS. Is this normal???

I know plenty of people at other schools who were offered both and declined one but put both on their CV. It sounds like the option to receiveĀ both is not an option for us and that was the first time I had heard of that.Ā

    Hello,

I'm in the same boat! Got offered and acceptedĀ CGS-M (SSHRC) at Queen's but I also applied to OGS back in January. You definitely can't accept the scholarship for both, but I agree with you that it would be great to be able to at least put both on a CV if successful! Would love to know what the official position is with regards to being taken out of consideration, if at all. But also in some cases OGS can be even more competitive than SSHRC so you could be successful for one and not the other! Gonna subscribe so I can see what other information is out there!

How would you see your decision up to a couple of days before? Or do you mean just see that the status changes up to a few days before and sometimes not even until the day before?Ā

    yes to the second point!

  4. I applied for CGS SSHRC with Queen's, where I am currently completing my M.ED,Ā and so far I haven't heard anything yet! The only communication I've gottenĀ (Which almost gave me a heart attack by the way) was the automated email in which they said that results will be available as of April 1st. However, through friends who have gotten SSHRC as recently as last year, it's a good chance you can see your decision up to a couple of days depending on the institution you go to! But try not to stress too much y'all! We should know soon!!
