I accidentally submitted a personal statement of ~900 words when the application asked for "approximately 500 words". The word count suggestion was on another page outside of the application, and I missed it. How much would this mistake hurt my chances? I'm applying to a PhD program in chemical engineering. Thanks for any answers!
