  1. Hi!

A little blurb about me before I delve into my situation. I graduated from this master's program in experimental psychology in Indiana back in May 2019. But since I didn't get my thesis finished until July, my school put down my official graduation month as August 2019.  During my time at this school, I worked at this research lab that consisted of me, my adviser, and undergraduate RAs (FYI, they change every semester). This lab I used to work at examined attention. I graduated with a 3.89 GPA and after I finished my coursework and defended my thesis, I moved back home. I know this sounds weird but currently, I'm working at this place where I used to work during my gap year (which is a before-and-after school program filled with kids that have special needs and kids who don't) after I left this lab at a local university due to my conflicting research interests with that of my PI. He told me that it's better if I go work at another lab. I'm currently reapplying for jobs as a research assistant in psychology so I can go back and get my PhD in clinical psychology. Could I possibly get another job as a research assistant at another psychology lab? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I have, and I do believe I was the poster on results section if you are mentioning the person who said they posted about two POI interview invites.

After our interviews one poi told me that for clinical, they had just finished reviewing apps (this was last Monday) and the interview date is around the 8th or 10th of feb (he wasn’t sure).

That said, I think each POI is taking this week and maybe next to get back to all potential interviewees. Sadly though, I do know for almost every POI I applied to work under (in clinical and child psych) they had less funding to admit new students. I had two interviews and got an email of rejection last Tuesday. One day after interviewing. However I knew my chances were slim, they are (these two specific poi’s) only able to take extreme “all stars”. It’s all about funding sadly. I was very dismayed but that’s the name of the game

Hi, thank you for answering my post! Good luck with your application!

  3. I just saw in another thread that the on-site interview invitation for FIU PhD program in developmental psychology will be extended this coming week. Has anybody heard back from FIU regarding on-site interview invites for clinical psychology? On the result section, I noticed that only one person got an interview over the phone from a POI at FIU and that's pretty much it.
