I was rejected from Northeastern as well but accepted into their masters program. Not worth the money at all haha, I have a feeling Penn State hasn't sent out all of their decisions yet, just be patient!!

But patience is the hardest part of the application! ?

I am still partially hopeful about Penn State, there has only been two acceptances so they might do waves. I am not sure about Cincy because I didn't apply there, and I don't think I've seen any GSU, UL, or Florida go out. I'm waiting only on Temple and Penn State, but Temple seems to be a clear rejection to me but I am not so sure about Penn State yet.

I was rejected by George Mason and Northeastern so I'm not hopeful about PSU and Cincinnati haha. That being said, I got an interview with John Jay so I really have no clue where I stand as an applicant!

    Hi!

To those invited to an interview at John Jay for the Criminal Justice PhD - have you been invited to interview in person and visit or to interview via skype?

Because I was invited to interview via skype, but would like to know if it´s more recommendable to travel there for an interview in person.

    Thank you!!

I was invited to both. Skype was an option if I had scheduling conflicts with their visit date.

I got accepted from PhD program in GMU and ASU with full funding, and I'm waiting for decision of U of Cincinnati.

As my I've interested in policing and crime prevention, GMU is wonderful school for me because of professors such as Drs. Weisburd and Cynthia Lum!! Therefore, I am leaning toward GMU. On the other hand, some professors and mentors advised me to enter ASU or U of Cinicinnati(if I got admission) because of higher reputation, ranking and tradition. How do you think guys? Which factors are more important between the reputation of school and research fit & professors?

Hmm, while I think reputation is certainly important, I would think of the production trade-off. If you know that your research interest aligns with specific faculty (and GMU definitely has great rep!), then I would think you would probably be more productive overall at school where you know you'll be able to do research. That being said, I'm a potential PhD student like you so that take that into consideration xD. Congrats on those admissions, btw! Those are certainly schools to be proud of!

I think they are going to be sending out acceptances/rejections all this week and maybe even further out. I wouldn't give up hope quite yet! I was about to give up hope and then I got accepted into a Sociology program with full funding so you'll just have to keep waiting and see. I'm sure you'll get in somewhere!!

    Congrats!! That's wonderful!

Northeastern’s decisions/interviews were sent out today, well at least mine was, I got accepted into the masters with a scholarship but rejected from the PhD ?

Congrats! Sorry for the PhD rejection but great program nonetheless to be accepted to! They're my top choice so now you have me glued to my email today XD
