Can anyone give me a comparison between south Alabama and La Tech? im having difficulty picking one over the other and I have about a week and a half to decide.. La Tech is in my home state and they would give me a GA,while USA isn’t giving me anything the first year. but I do love how they have a medical Audiology and Tinnitus class at USA...that and I also applied to their school for the abroad program to Durban.. can someone help me with their pros and cons?

Has anyone accepted admission to University of South Alabama? That’s where I’m ultimately headed and I wanted to start gaining some connections

You guys,I’m going to have to back up and agree with @EarNerd i applied to 8 schools,got rejected at 3,waitlisted at 4,and got accepted at 1. this is my third time applying..but the first time I applied to so many schools. I applied to only two twice and got waitlisted to rejections twice.It just takes that one school to see your potential. Don’t be upset about getting accepted at a school you don’t deem is the best like your top choices.if you are,then why did you even apply you know? There would be someone else more grateful of taking your spot to that school. If you’re waitlisted,there’s still hope! But don’t have too high of expectations just yet of getting in. Start thinking about a plan B and how you can improve your applications in case those waitlists turn into rejects...

Has anyone heard from Lamar today? I interviewed last Saturday and fell in love with the whole program...I heard we were going to know by Monday,but some people already knew 2 hours after their interviews.

@pumpkinbat my heart hurts,but I’m so happy for you guys ❤️ I just hope if I’m waitlisted,it’s not a long wait. I like their clinic and faculty so much. They were also trying to establish an abroad program

@Purpalia I’m so happy for you!! But now I’m anxious since I didn’t get an email yet...I’m really hoping to get accepted also, so fingers crossed!!!

@Purpalia fingers crossed for both of us then!!! I wish the interview portion existed...but there’s not much we can do now.

To everyone who has applied to UAMS: i had received an email back from the Dept of the Program and he had told me "As you may know, January 15th was the deadline, but we wait until after February 15th to give CSDCAS time to verify transcripts. The Audiology faculty has already met to review applications, and we now have applicants rank-ordered for offers of admission to be approved by the UAMS College of Professions office. We will be reaching out to applicants soon with either a letter of offer, and notification of being placed on the waiting list." I had not gotten an interview..but i did schedule to see them end of September last year to meet faculty,the program, and some of the students...so i'm hoping that counts as my interview portion.. we should be getting notified real soon though!

@PurpaliaI just tried emailing the admissions committee for UAMS and theres an automatic response that says they're out until June 31st....I tried calling the Dept Head and left a voicemail about admissions inquiry, so hopefully they call me back

@Purpalia I’ve heard nothing from UAMS yet and it kind of gives me anxiety? But I don’t see anything in terms of interviews just yet,so hopefully we know this week!

@CeNayNay Were you waitlisted three times also to the schools you applied? Also, which ones did you apply to in the past?

Hi! My name is Andrea and this year i'm applying to 9 schools. UMAS, South Alabama and Dakota, Lamar,Central Michigan,Missouri, Louisiana Tech, Texas Tech, and Wichita State. I am also applying to a cognitive neuroscience program at UT Dallas and SLP program at Texas State as potential backup plans.. I graduated in 2016 with a COMD degree. 3.2 GPA with a bunch of special needs and Deaf community experience. I've only applied to La tech and Texas tech the past two years and have gotten waitlisted both times, so i'm really hoping to get into a program this year! Audiology has been my passion and i even took the opportunity to work in the allergy dept at an ENT clinic just to be able to work part time with audiologists. Good luck to everyone!!
