@perpetualalligator thanks for the response! Yeah they are really dragging this out. It makes me feel bad because I have been waiting to hear back before accepting other offers so I might be keeping someone else on the waitlist. I might just make a decision before hearing back from them.

Damn!! I don't have anything on my portal either and someone updated a rejection just now saying they saw it in their portal. I am not sure what is going on. If it is a rejection the wait does suck. Good luck, I hope you got other options?

If you have not gotten an update on your portal id suggest checking your junk mail! (I got an admission in my junk mail I did not see for a while). Good luck

@perpetualalligator I got an email. It said the first round of offers had been sent out. Then that there was a waitlist of applicants and I was one of them. It seemed to be somewhat generic so I would think it was sent out to all the waitlisted applicants at once.

Crossing my fingers for CUNY. Final decision for me and also one of my top choices. This is gonna be an exciting week!!! ? (my emotions rn)

@perpetualalligator I asked around last week Tuesday or Wednesday. They were finalizing the interviews and said they would be sending out decisions by early March. Tbh I kinda expected to hear from them today but nothing. As for the accepted w funding/ no funding/waitlisted I am not sure. When I interviewed w a prof he made it seem they were recommending some students to fellowships outside of the $25,000 and then fitting the rest to either admit w tuition remission/ waitlist. I am not at all sure if this is the case but they kind of made it seem that way. Sorry, I probably didn't provide a solid answer but that was my impression lol.

If the other U of Maine applicant sees this, would you mind telling me if you initially applied for the Ph.D. or M.A.? I applied for the Ph.D. and received an admission into the M.A. I am not sure if that means I was accepted as an M.A. working towards a Ph.D. (like Purdue's program) or if it is a rejection to the Ph.D. I guess once I hear about funding I will know?

Why hasn't Yale made any noise?! Just tell me I'm rejected already....please.

@AnthroChick21 thanks. I hope it works out for you. At this point I think it is okay to email any POI you may have contacted before. That way you can at least know a definite answer. Best of luck on your other apps too! btw, if anyone has any news on yale ant/f&es Ph.D. I would really appreciate it. It seems only one person had an interview request so far? idk.

Also, I saw someone asking about Purdue. I received an acceptance (cultural) earlier last week, I asked a friend if they heard anything back and they also got accepted (bio) around the same time. Not sure if they are still finalizing admission decisions but I got the impression the department has submitted their decisions to the grad school. Hope this helps

@perpetualalligator I am sociocultural (CUNY) I was contacted directly by a member of the committee. He did mention that the first round of interviews are going on and they are making decisions about funding and fellowship recommendations. Based on if the students accept or decline offers they might make another round. They have mixed info as to what the timeline will be but estimate first round of offers will be sent out around late Feb/early march
