  1. So I am in a rut and I hope some people can give me guidance on this. I know this is a common problem grad school applicants have. So basically I applied to the MPA at Ryerson as well as the Immigration and Settlement Studies also at Ryerson. Now my first choice of program is definitely the MPA, I pretty much applied to the other program as a back up. I got accepted into the Immigration program today and I have not heard back anything from the MPA program. I definitely do not want to say no to my back up program and also not get into the MPA.. however I would drop the Immigration program in a heartbeat if i got into the MPA program.

My question is.. what should I do if I accept the Immigration program but end up getting into the MPA after the Immigration program's acceptance deadline? Does anyone know  how the process works for suddenly saying you don't want your slot in the program anymore?

I have not even received a waitlist notification from Ryerson and it is almost the end of April now so I'm really quite confused on what to do.

Thanks in advance for your help guys!

Still no word from Ryerson or UofT. Ryerson is my first choice and where I want to go. This long wait is depressing as it is but it would be even more depressing, if, after all these wait, I end up getting a rejection letter.

Several pple on this forum hv been  accepted. Does anyone know why  others, like me, are still waiting to hear from them? Is this silence leaning more towards rejection? Has anyone received a rejection letter from them? I'm sorry if you have.

I just need closure at this point so I can stop checking my email, lol.

I am in the exact same spot as you. I applied to Ryerson on January 14th (I know I applied late) and I have not heard anything back since that program review email citing that my application has been forwarded to the admissions committee. My feelings are identical to yours. However, I did see that in this forum last Friday someone got into Ryerson so maybe they are on their second round of admissions like UofT? All the best to everyone who is still waiting to hear back.

  3. Hi Everyone!

I've applied solely to Ryerson's MPPA program (full time stream) and I applied approximately 2-3 weeks after the due date. I live here in the Greater Toronto Area and didn't want to leave the area to study. I did my undergraduate degree in Criminology at Ryerson as well. I had no idea if I would get in since I wasn't sure how they calculated the last two years' cumulative gpa. A couple days ago however I got this message from Ryerson..

"Your application has been reviewed for consideration and has been forwarded to the Program Admissions Committee for review."

I am assuming I have met the minimum gpa and other requirements in order to be forwarded to the admissions committee? Can anyone confirm what exactly this means?

Thanks so much and good luck to everyone!
