Hi all,
I am a newbie here. Recently I applied to a local university (UOIT) here in the Greater Toronto Area for an MEd. To my shock, my application was rejected. The reason I am shocked is I am currently an adjunct professor and have an undergrad and post-grad certificate as well. My letters of reference were from the Associate Dean and Program Head. So now I have decided to broaden my horizons and am expanding my search to institutions all over the world. The caveat is, I want to start as soon as possible and it must be 100% online. Ideally, a full-time 1-year program as well.
Are my expectations unreasonable? If you have any school suggestions, please let me know.
I saw University of Ottawa has a similar set up but their start is September. The option I could do - I don't know how well it would work - is getting into an American College (looking at Concordia - Portland) and then transferring those credits to University of Ottawa (if I'm accepted). I spoke to the department at UofO and they said they would accept a maximum of 2 credits.
My reasoning for an accelerated program is that the college I am currently teaching at won't even conduct an interview for a full-time position unless your Masters is completed. No matter how long you've been already there at a part-time level.
Thank you in advance for your help!
