I got my rejection email today. I don't know if specifying is against the rule, but I hope I can help others for later years. I applied for Artificial Intelligence, Image Processing, Graph & Visualization as my three choices (in that same order), with no professor preference. The email said that I'm shortlisted as one in the top 15% from 2500 applications for acceptance, and that it means my profile is well matched for the level of EPFL PhD program (I don't know if everyone gets the same thing), but as they can only pick the top 2%, I was not admitted. I wish the best summer to all qualified applicants and also for those who apply next year (or the years to come). This is probably my last chance as I am in the next to last summer of university.
