It feels kind of like we're a bunch of pigeons. Every time someone gets a crumb of information we get all flustered trying to find a crumb ourselves. If this is their lot in life, it must suck to be a pigeon.

I called grad studies and was informed I've won the $20k/ year SSHRC for 3 years. Anyone at Queen's can call Leisa Macdonald to find out...

I'll vouche for RaaR. He's a good guy, and I've known him personally. He would only tell the truth. He's at Hebrew U in Israel (I'm sure he won't mind me saying that,) and so this is why I think they may have told him by e-mail, as it will take the letter forever and three days to get there.

Congrats, good buddy. Hope fortune favours me the same. Oh, and telling us you e-mailed someone is really gonna screw them over if you let us know who, so I recommend you keep that info to yourself, and let us poor souls wait it out.

Well... passed candicacy exams and completed all my course work. Only a good SSHRC letter would complete my happy mood
Just can't believe I am finishing up 25 years of school... wow... it is about time I start to get serious

Ha. Graduate work takes you in directions you never could have foreseen. If only SSHRC judged research ability by our conscientious study of this forum, what we know about the adjudication of awards at the institutional and federal level, and our investigation into mail delivery, then we would all have funding.

I just called SSHRC on the number listed on the website and asked about doctoral SSHRC awards for this year. I was told that ALL doctoral SSHRC letters will be sent out this week. I asked further and he said that MAYBE they would be sent out tomorrow (but unlikely). He said that they will almost for sure be sent out on or before Thursday morning. So hopefully results start arriving in mailboxes by the end of the week!

my grad coordinator was just told by SSHRC that mail would be sent out "early this week" and administration would be informed once that is done. so that might account for the mid may info.
