I'm writing a book on technical image analysis of fine art and am seeking example two-dimensional artworks (preferably paintings, drawings, prints, ... in that order) to illustrate several concepts. Among several works that might illustrate the concept, the more established and famous the work and its artist—and hence more easily found in a museum or art-history book—the better. The example I seek now is: a painting in which a cast shadow does not conform to the object ostensibly casting it. I'm not seeking optically incorrect cast shadows (I have many examples of those) but instead where an artist deliberately drew a shadow "incorrectly" to convey a point or idea. This slideshow illustrates the concept, but I seek paintings illustrating the same concept. Thanks in advance.
