  1. Hi all, I’m currently a neuropsychology extern at a hospital and one of my patients passed away. I work with moderate/severe TBI and cancer patients, so I knew this would eventually happen. However, actually experiencing this now for the first time, it is hitting me harder than I thought. If anyone has experienced this and could provide any advice/resources, I would appreciate it. Or, if anyone has any advice to not let these situations weigh down on you over time, that would also be helpful. Thanks.
  2. I had a similar situation when I applied to schools last year and my advisors said that you shouldn't talk about your own mental health, but it is acceptable to talk about a friend or family member's. They suggested to talk about my mental health experiences as if a friend experienced it, rather than describing it first-hand. That being said, I applied to clinical psychology doctorate programs, so counseling MA programs may be different.
