  1. Most starts late August, schools in cal starts from mid-late Sep I think
  2. Yes you are definitely making a point why “I” students didn’t hear anything. My point being, not all international students are unable to attend the visit day. Like myself, I am an international student with a US degree. I’m currently in US and definitely could attend the visit day ( “U student by gradcafe”) I believe there are many “U” international students like me and apparently none of them has reported an admit.
  3. Like everyone is talking about no international student has attended visit day, plus if you look at the gradcafe results all of the admits are "A", not a single one is "U" or "I"
  4. It seems Caltech didn't admit a signle international student this year. That sucks.
  5. Cool! In my opinion he is a very nice person, super approachable! I went to his flight dynamics class and it was pretty good. He is a newly recruited assistant professor to the department in these two years. I would encourage you to talk to him more if you are interested in his offer.
  6. Are you the one got interviewed last week? I’m interested in working with Prof. Soon-Jo
  7. Yeah I think they will be released at the same time
  8. I haven’t. I believe they won’t sent out offers until Feb 20th this year. So does MIT.
  9. Wait does MIT not accept any outside PhD students? Similar to what Stanford did?
  10. Yeah honestly I am losing hope for Caltech. There are probably dozens of 4.0s with master's degrees lining up to compete for that spot. My 2 cents on grad school application is probably plan early. Make plans for the four years, including classes and researches. Make sure work loads are evened out over the semesters, start looking for research early and make intermediate goals to achieve. Also make plans for each semesters, look ahead and start working on homeworks as soon as they are made availiable, so that you can move things around more easily. Then with those guides all you need to do is put in the work, and hope for the best!
  11. Congrats! Is Stanford your top choice?
  12. I got Stanford and Purdue. How about you?
  13. Have you heard anything from him though?
  14. Yeah I guess that make sense as he is the only one doing control there. Do you mind sharing your back ground? Feel free to use the template!
  15. Oh what coincidence! I am only interested in Prof. Soon-Jo Chung. How about you? Btw I just got my first ad this morning from Purdue! Yay!
  16. Oh I mean sub directions. I applied to controls in Aeronautics.
  17. I haven’t. What direction did you applied for?
