That program historically recruits from within, unfortunately and typically, if a faculty indicates that they’re accepting a student then they will but things can change regarding funding or they may not match with a student well and take no one even after interviewing.

I haven't heard back from SDSU/UCSD either, on their website it states that they'll inform us mid-January either way.  I had an informal Zoom meeting with POI: KH in July and asked if he was taking a student and he said yes.

Hi everyone! Congrats to those who have gotten interview invites! Has anyone heard anything about Counseling PhD programs from Teachers College, NYU, Fordham or Boston College? Thanks in advance for any comments!

A friend of mine received an interview invite from Columbia's Teachers College Counseling Psychology PHD program last year on January 17th. Hope that helps! I'm also waiting to hear!

    Was this a mass email?

I'm not sure if it was a mass email for everyone but I got a direct email from the Program Coordinator. I was invited for an initial Zoom interview from one UCSB faculty and received an email on December 7th and had that interview on December 11th. Additionally, I was invited for an initial Zoom interview from the other UCSB faculty I applied to and received an email on December 11th and had that interview on December 16th.
