Hi all! For this of you that will be attending Dalhousie in the fall, I've created a group called "Dalhousie MSW Incoming Class 2020." Feel free to join if you'd like!

I totally empathize with how awful waiting can be. I applied the last two years to graduate programs where the applications were due December/January and you didn't find out until May. It was so hard, especially the second and third (this) year!
What got me through was a couple of things. First schedule something in the coming weeks that you can look forward to. That way, if you get good news you have something to celebrate with. If you get not so good news, it'll be something to cheer you up. Or if you still haven't heard back it'll be a good way to distract yourself!
Also, and I know this is easier said than done, limit yourself to how many times you spend checking these forums and your email/application portal. I found that on days that I was constantly checking it made it even more difficult and that I became obsessive at times. It was really bad for my mental health.
I know these suggestions won't necessarily be universally helpful, but I found that they helped me get through the waiting process.
Good luck to all of you and I hope you get the good news you've been waiting for!
Also, here's a cute picture of a dog named Pippa that I found on the internet to hopefully put a bit of a smile on your guys' faces!

I'm in Ontario! So this eases my anxiety a little bit...
Thanks for your support!! And congrats to you both again, so exciting!! Is dal the only school you applied to/ is it your first choice??
You're more than welcome! I know how nerve wracking it can be waiting to hear back.
I applied to UofT too, but Dal is definitely my first choice!

Congrats!! I'm also still waiting... was your portal updated with your acceptance just today?? I'm wondering if they're doing acceptances in waves, or if they sent all the acceptances out at once and now we're just waiting for waitlist or decline...
Depending on where you live it could just be a difference in delivery times of the letters. I'm on PEI, so I heard back pretty fast! My letter was dated Feb 7th.

I also don’t have access to my mailbox, but my portal changed to “accepted - deposit requested”
For the non-BSW entry MSW?

Did they provide any indicators of whether or not they would be giving financial aid?
Nothing on this letter, but perhaps on the official acceptance from the registrar.

Congrats!!! I don't have access to my mailbox (used my parent's address as mine isn't permanent, and my parents aren't home for a while..). Do they also update it online???
Nothing has updated online! It still says "written notification to follow."

Haven't heard anything yet. It is a bit later this year.. maybe today will be the day!
I just checked my mail box and got a letter stating "The MSW Admissions Committee is pleased to notify you that it has recommended acceptance of your application to the Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies." ?
So, check your mail box! If you don't have anything yet, word should be coming very soon!

Has anyone heard from Dal for the non-BSW entry for the MSW? It seems to be a bit later this year than previous years!
