Expect a truly informal ~10-minute phone conversation. A professor from the committee called just to chat about why I'm interested in Pitt, said I'm a top applicant and would be invited for an interview, and that was all.

I have an “informal meeting” scheduled tomorrow morning with one person on Pitt’s admission committee. Seems kind of odd as I didn’t think Pitt did this prior to interview invites. Does anyone know what to expect?

Yes! The dates are Jan 30/31 virtual. They may or may not still be calling applicants as I haven’t gotten the official email from the university yet, and they said it would take a few days.

Anyone who interviewed at CMU get word on a decision yet? They said they’d make the decision fairly quick but it’s been a couple weeks... paranoia is setting in hard.
