Ahhhhh, this is encouraging and horrifying. The waitlist deadline is April 10th and I heard there are 8 of us, in no ranked order. Did you get the email literally today? Congrats on your Waterloo acceptance though!

Part time, advanced standing. There are so many streams of Laurier programs, it can get confusing!

Laurier applications for January 2021 start are due May 1st! I applied originally for May 2020 start, and was waitlisted. So this application is literally back-to-back! I thought I might as well try and see what happens.

In general. Someone I know got an offer to Waterloo back in January and had 10 days to accept the offer as well. She got an email.

Thanks for your input! I ask mainly because I applied in October for this program, and the next application is due May 1 - which is one month away. The program I've been waitlisted for starts in May, so realistically nothing in my application has changed. I still have the same perspective as I previously had. Maybe if I had applied with a year's difference, it would be different. Something to think about, anyway.... (This application was entirely different than when I had previously applied fresh out of my BSW, so I totally see how it could entirely change). Congrats on your acceptance!

Bit of an odd question - has anyone ever applied to the same program back to back and used the same personal statement? I am thinking of applying again to the same school if I don't get off the waitlist (doubtful as there are 10 days left) but there would be little to no change in the things that I have to say that are valuable and important to me (I did work really hard on it), and this same statement got me on the waitlist. It was also recommended to me to just use the same application, but I don't know how I feel about that. I wonder if the review committee is the same every time?

Interesting. Thanks for the info! I wonder why the last date to hear about waitlist is April if decisions were made in January.... maybe because people change their minds/don't get their docs in/etc.

Honestly don't think there is any way to tell! Those lists are so wildly different every year; from the number of people on them, to the number of applicants that may potentially decline their offer. Wishing you the best! Did Waterloo give you any idea of when you would hear back by? Laurier says if you don't hear anything by April 10, your application is closed & you didn't make it off the list.

Did anyone apply to May 2020 Laurier Advanced Standing (online)? If I remember correctly, was today the date you had to give a decision by? Anxiously waiting on waitlist status.....

Which Laurier program had you gotten an acceptance for? / That you will be turning down. I am noticing that keeping tracking of all the Laurier admissions is getting tricky because there are May and September streams, and online and on-campus versions of each!

I applied for the part time online advanced standing program at Laurier and heard that I was waitlisted sometime in Mid-Feb. I also know some people who applied for non-advanced standing got rejection notifications around the same time.
